Drum and bass? More like drum and SPACE. Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Okay, there's no recovering from that, and you've probably stopped reading already, but I'll carry on. I like having a stockpile of non-vocal music on hand to leave running in the background while filling out spreadsheets, responding to emails, or one of the many other exciting activities that comprise my work life, and drum and bass is a genre that I've always wanted to check out more of. A few vague "best drum and bass album of 20xx" web searches later and here we are.
This album is neat! The super fast breakbeats and space-y synths meld together surprisingly well here, creating a richly atmospheric sound that successfully invokes hurtling through the vastness of space. It's difficult to find individual tracks or moments from the album to highlight, as everything melds together in a cohesive way, occasionally feeling a touch too repetitive. If you like this song - as I do - then you'll probably enjoy putting on some nice headphones, starting up this album from the beginning, and focusing most of your attention elsewhere while it plays.
