Located in a small alleyway market near the Place de la Bastille, Le Traiteur Marocain serves up staple Moroccan dishes at reasonable prices. As a sheltered sillypants, I had not actually had any Moroccan food before this, so I took the advice of a random Yelp reviewer and ordered the Couscous Royal. Some scattered thoughts are included below:
- "Couscous" is a fun word to say. Cursory research tells me that couscous consists of "steamed wheat middlings," which is decidedly less fun to say.
- Couscous also tastes pretty good! It's like a softer, fluffier form of rice that has been run through a sifter.
- All three of the meats included in the dish were great, with the sausage in particular standing out. Very, very flavorful.
