The Eiffel Tower is a genuinely impressive building. To provide some supporting evidence for this claim: it's really tall, it has a lot of iron, and it's neat looking. Simply walking up to its base felt like a worthwhile endeavor, which is good, because there isn't a lot else going for it. There is a lengthy security clearance line to get through at the ground level, and once you're allowed in, you are given the option to either pay to ride an elevator or pay to walk up the stairs. Freedom isn't free in America, but walking up staircases usually is. Other countries need to join us by taking a #StandForStairs.
