Lamb & Flag, in addition to having a delightfully droll name, is a traditional British pub located in the heart of downtown London. As a first-time visitor to London that is easily entertained, I had fun wandering down a narrow, old-timey alleyway to find the entrance and navigating the even narrower, creaky staircase to get to the dining area. There's definitely a rich atmosphere and sense of history here.
I had originally planned on writing about each component of the meal that I ordered here (fish and chips, some rarebit, a glass of Pimm's, etc.), but forget about that. Let's talk about the mushy peas. These things are great! Unlike other versions that I've had before, the mushy peas at the Lamb & Flag were warm and prepared with a consistency much like mashed potatoes. I want to go back here, order a large bowl of them, and thrust my face into it.
